Sixteen Ridges - Pinot Noir Early 2015,  Seadlescombe Regent Rondo 2015

English Red Wine

When selecting a red wine, most of us opt for something familiar; an Italian Barolo, a Spanish Rioja or a Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina or Chile. However, there are world class red wines being produced under our very noses! English Red Wine may not have the history of other wine producing countries, but it’s come a long way in a short time.

With the climate hotting up, the south of England has become ideal for growing grapes. From crisp, cool climate pinot noirs, to fuller bodied merlot and cabernet sauvignon, English red wine is well worth seeking out and giving a go. If you’re not sure what to go for, our English Red Wine Trio is a great starting point. Allow us to introduce you to the world of English wine, with offerings from some of the best vineyards in blighty!

Sixteen Ridges - Pinot Noir Early 2015

A deep ruby red, medium bodied wine with aromas of violet, dried cherry, and a hint of raspberry, following on the pallet with gentle earthy tannins which give structure and a long finish.

Seadlescombe Regent Rondo 2015

Vibrant ruby red colour. Light to medium bodied with delicious  red berry fruit flavours, balanced with smokey oak character and a dash of tannin. A great red to go with lighter, healthier dishes
