Jenkyn Place - Blanc de Noirs 2010
Double Gold Medal 'Outstanding' 2010 Blanc de Noirs from Jenkyn Place - one of England's Top Wineries
The 2010 Jenkyn Place Blanc de Noirs is an exceptionally fine vintage Blanc de Noirs from one of the younger English wine estates, situated in Hampshire.
The first vintage to be produced, it will only be made in the best years and has already grabbed the attention not just of the wine writers and critics but of leading sommeliers too; most recently winning a Gold Medal and an 'Outstanding' classification at the IWSC 2017, one of the world's most highly regarded competitions.
Now in it's 5th year after vintage, the first Jenkyn Place Blanc de Noir has been released. It has a fresh nose of cashew nuts with notes of lime and ginger and on the palate there is a sensation of ripe pear, golden apple, baked bread and toast. Its great acid structure gives freshness, lift and length. There is plenty of complexity to follow as the wine already has stunning length, poise and detail on the finish – fascinating and delicious! Coming into its own now, this wine has a fantastic future.
This award-winning wine is made in the traditional Champagne method.Quality control is paramount throughout the whole process – from the design, planting and tending of the vineyards to the actual production of the wines. This stunning Blanc de Noir (a 50/50 split of pinot noir and pinot meunier) spent over four years on the lees before being bottled.
